How are you using your bioethics training?:

The recent completion of my master's degree in research ethics, sponsored by the Caribbean Research Ethics Education Initiative (CREEii), has equipped me with a profound understanding of ethical theories, marking a significant turning point in my academic and professional journey. This enriched perspective will be instrumental in my role as an educator for term five medical students at Saint George's University, enabling me to illuminate the principles of medical ethics with newfound clarity and depth. The CREEii program has also developed my scholarly capabilities. Armed with this enhanced ability, I am now uniquely positioned to produce academic papers of superior quality. In addition, this heightened level of academic communication will allow me to convey my ideas more effectively to students and colleagues, fostering a vibrant intellectual environment within our institution. Furthermore, this program has deepened my appreciation for the potential ethical dilemmas that may arise in medical and research contexts. With a solid foundation in research ethics, I am prepared to identify such challenges and devise ethically sound solutions. This ability to navigate ethical quandaries will prove invaluable in my ongoing academic pursuits and professional engagements. The research skills I have developed under CREEii's education will empower me to conduct rigorous investigations in areas of interest within my country's health sector. By applying these skills and ethical considerations to my research, I am ready to contribute significantly to the growth and development of local and regional health infrastructure. Lastly, I am committed to contributing to the global conversation on bioethics. With the ethical research I conduct and the subsequent publications in bioethics journals, I aim to share knowledge that extends beyond local contexts, offering insights that can be generalized and applied universally. In conclusion, the bioethics training I received from CREEii has prepared me to substantially impact medical education, research ethics, and health sector development. As I move forward, I am excited to leverage this knowledge to its fullest potential, furthering my career and the ethical standards and practices within my academic and professional communities.

How are you using your bioethics training?:

My bioethics training with CREEi has been very valuable for my work in the Department of Personal Care Regulation. I have used it to strengthen the principles and ethical values and research of the different processes and tools of the Personal Care Programs like organization manuals and functions, comprehensive health care regulations and health policies. It has also helped me to emphasize the importance of bioethics (integrity, empirical evidence) in the regulations and legal instruments of health programs and strengthen the research processes in the Health Care Programs. It has also helped me to support the Disability Program so that the work they carry out in favor of people with disabilities can fill the gaps found during the systematic review related to the Disability Program.
