A panel proposal from CREEi PI, Co-I, faculty, interpreter, and former trainees was accepted for the 32ndAnnual Association for Practical and Professional Ethics International Conference (https://www.appe-ethics.org/ ). The panel was part of the virtual conference program on March 31, 2023. The panel included PI Cheryl Macpherson, Co-I Paul Cummins, interpreter Cristina Frasier, faculty Bernardo Garcia Camino and Sharmella Roopchand-Martin, and program alumni Lisette Arnaud Lopez and Donna Mc Kinnon. The panel presented our novel program for building research ethics expertise across language barriers through simultaneous bilingual instruction. Panel attendees learned about its rationale, methods, quality, and effect on faculty and students. Our program can be used by ethics experts as a model for expanding the range of international ethics training opportunities. The virtual conference made it possible for panelists to attend without the added burden of travel and its associated costs, time, and carbon emissions.
