Updated: May 8

On March 29 2024, CREEi alumna Niccollette Tamayo-Jiminez, class of 2023, delivered a paper at the 33rd Annual Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) International Conference (https://www.appe-ethics.org/ ). The work built upon her CREEi master’s project and the title of her talk was ‘Is the research ethics community justified in incorporating environmental impact reviews into its ethical evaluation of research projects, and if so, what framework should be used?’ She was the sole author for her presentation. Also presenting in different sessions of this conference were PI Cheryl Macpherson: ‘Advancing environmental sustainability through bioethics and public policy’ (co-authored with Katharine Wright) and Co-I Paul Cummins who spoke about the imperative to develop climate resilience: ‘Climate change adaptation: The case for prioritizing public health.’
